£5,000 donation made to Help 4 Homeless Veterans

The Regiment Support Service is proud to announce that on Friday, 2nd August 2024 a donation of £5,000 was made to Help 4 Homeless Veterans (Charity No 1148155). Earlier this year The Regiment Support Service started a new initiative called 'The Homeless Soldier Project' which looks to assist British charities that are dedicated to tackling the problem of homeless veterans on the streets of the United Kingdom. Funds are raised through the sale of 'The Homeless Soldier Project' lapel badges which are produced free of charge through sponsorship from UK businesses. All proceeds from the sale of the badges are donated to British charities that support homeless soldiers.

Help 4 Homeless Veterans exists to help veterans who find themselves homeless or living in poor conditions to find suitable accommodation. Operating from Yorkshire and chiefly centred on the North of England, the charity can offer veterans places to stay whilst they get back on their feet.

James Caddick from The Regiment Support Service said 'We are delighted to be able to present this donation to such a worthy cause. Help 4 Homeless Veterans has been running since 2012 and in that time has helped over 500 homeless veterans off the street. It is the smaller charities such as these working on the front line of the housing epidemic that are a lifeline for those veterans who find themselves with nowhere to go or sleep. May I wish Steve and the charity all the very best going forward and many thanks for the plaque of recognition that we have received.'

Help 4 Homeless Veterans pride themselves on being able to react quickly. If a veteran is in a bad situation, once they are in contact with the charity they will find themselves in capable hands. Veterans are regularly taken off the street and put into B&B accommodation as a stop-gap before more permanent solutions can be found. It has even provided food parcels to those veterans most in need. No matter how severe the situation, Help 4 Homeless Veterans have been and continue to be a much-needed lifeline for veterans in need.
